Here's my beautiful SECOND blog page ...!!! In case you've ever wondered what my favorite panel of Tekno the Canary from Sonic the Comic (commonly referred to as the Fleetway comics) is, well, here's theburning answer!!!

My favorite drawing of Tekno is from this panel of issue #123:

Sonic: Gilbert Grumpy's Garden! I wonder where the dour dude is right now?

I really really like how completely silly she looks & that shes carrying her jackhammer.

The combination in-motion running pose with her open mouth looks so silly!!!! It's almost like she was meant to be talking in that panel, but they decided to cut the speech bubble (there's even ample room for one!)

To my memory her jackhammer was only shown in 2 strips total. The other one was issue #105:

Tekno: I mean it's to bore through rock!
Amy: Now I'm with you!
(Their outfits!!!)
It's referred to as a "drilling machine" which might be a separate type of device, or it may be that's the british equivalent term for "jackhammer". Or maybe "jackhammer" as a term was popularized way after this comics time...! I first learned about jackhammers as a kid through Club Penguin, which lead me to believe theyre very relevant to daily life. A quick google says "jackhammer" is a type of drilling machine but vice versa may not be true. So who's to say. Send me a carrier pigeon if you know about the intricacies of drilling machine nomenclature!

I love Tekno a lot! She's one of my favorite "less canon" Sonic characters. Definitely a very fun solution towards the endlessly-answered question "what if Amy Rose had a best friend?"

I've gotten these panels off the first comics pirating site that presented itself before me. The cover page boasts a "STC Archive" watermark, further investigation is required... What archive is this? By whom and from when? Is it still up? Are the scans decent quality for their time? Are even higher quality scans in circulation now, 30 years later after publication? How could they dare watermark a scan clearly intended for preservation? What's up with Fleetway Editions, since they went completely under aren't all the comics fair game now legally? Does anyone hold the copyright/etc in the present day? wait SEGA might... Hmmm...
