ive extracted and decoded all(?) dialogue and text found in the techdemos files :) i still havent fully figured out how to go about editing in-game text (altering the .exe or asking it to load cyrillic characters crashes it) + whether or not all the maria dialogue is even accessible in-game, so i figured uploading it all in one place would be better for making it all viewable for now:
the dialogue text can be found in \Data\Texts\Dialogues while the ui text was extracted from PlagueCity.exe. decoding was done via
this sites tool and machine translated in googletranslate.
all of this was extracted, decoded, uploaded here line by line by hand. Enjoy !!!
if anyone spots any mistakes in any section please dont hesitate to inform me ^_^ since the english section is machine translated theres bound to be mistakes everywhere there, but feel free to correct anything :) its much less likely for there to be any mistakes in the decoded sections but Do let me know if you spot any

text-related info and observations:
• seen characters:
• Bachelor (Бакалавр) aka Benedict (Бенедикт), the player character, who mentions not being a local. He would like a drink of water. We do not exactly "see" him past a silhouette in the inventory screen. It's possible he's a proto-proto-Daniil, though he may not even be a doctor at all..? (see further down for notes)
• Maria Kaina (Мария Каина), a temperamental aristocratic woman who is very afraid of contracting the illness that's suddenly appeared in town. Her hairstyle here is strikingly similar to the hairstyle she's seen with in
the very beginning of the P2 kickstarter teaser while her dress is unlike any of her concept art nor models' dresses
• A Sickly Man (Доходяга), who made it to the final version of Classic as the Немощный/Sickly Man non-bound character
• Salt informed me that dohodyaga_common is the actors script associated with that npc in final, despite him having a different name in dialogue, so it looks like this guy survived into the final version much more than one would expect
• mentioned characters:
• Mokrok (Мокрок), the co-owner of the factory (and presumably the Bull Project as a whole..? its unclear)
• A tanner/factoryworker (дубильщик), who hanged himself suddenly
• some dialogue in pathologics day 1 references tanners and factories!:
Historically, the oldest craft around here was tanning; eventually a group of factories sprouted on the river bank. About eighty years ago that settlement burned away, and then the Abattoir was constructed.
• An apprentice (подмастерье) that found the tanner/worker, untied him, then suddenly became very sick
• Kuron (Курон), someone in town, who is sent by a scared citizen (паникер) to investigate if anyone came in contact with the tanner and the sick apprentice
• Jon found that he's briefly mentioned as a legendary figure in final: strings 535150 (Eva in Bachelor route) and 529240 (Katerina in Changeling route)
• Mark (Марк), someone who's spreading news of “suspicious finds”. It's entirely unclear if he is one and the same as our dear Mr Immortell or not
• A colleague of Benedicts that “needs living organs: he wants to make something grandiose out of them.“ (Ему нужны живые о ганы: г озится соо удить из них нечто г андиозное.) ...unclear if this is proto-Rubin or Artemy or someone else entirely
• Twin Stamatin (близнец Стаматин), who is mentioned as having pulled a knife on Vlad to finish him off “after the fight” ...it's unclear which of the twins this is but the knife-ready nature suggests it's most likely Andrei/a prototype Andrei
• Vlad the younger (маленького Влад), unclear if he is an Olgimsky
• A girl named Nicky (Ники), who was murdered: it seems she attempted to stop Stamatin stabbing Vlad and in the process got killed by him. in some of the Maria dialogue Benedict is trying to cover this up
• The Olgimskys (Ольгимские) as a family but no specifics on its members. Maria wants to enter an alliance/agreement with them
• Marias father, the co-owner of the Bull Project, who is not named
benedict/healer/player notes
Within the inventory description text theres a bit of information about the player character, but it's unclear if these are meant to be "written"/thought/etc by Benedict, our only player character, or someone else, such as a different healer (similar to how P2 has healer-pov-specific item descriptions). It's important to note Pathologic was originally conceived of with seven total healers, which got cut down to just three playable ones in the final version of the story. Benedict may be a very early prototype version of Daniil, and the mentioned colleague may be a prototype version of Artemy, but other than those two already very loose conclusions it's difficult to determine who the other healers were, or if they had even definitively been conceived of at this point.
according to the item descriptions, this narrator:
• knows absolutely nothing about medicine, and is making it up as he goes
• handles a lot of tools that seem specific to surgery, and talks about them as such
• has been told he handles certain tools "like a real pathologist"
• mentions Hook (крючок) being "[his] namesake"; "Hook" is known as Artemy's prototype surname
